Truck Rims vs. Truck Wheels

Rims are not wheels and wheels are not rims.  The rim is the outer circle of a wheel, attached to the hub by spokes. Both have the same chief purpose and both attach in the same place—on the hub of the axles to the front of the brakes and rotors. Rim is jargon for the fancy wheels, however, the rim of the wheel doesn’t have to be pretty for being an effective component for attaching your tires to so that your vehicle can move on down the road.  Rims are usually made of  the latest in alloys, chrome, forged-style wheels, or other durable metal.  “Rim” is not technically correct, yet rims must be absolutely correct and perfect, manufactured with precision for attaching tires so the tires do not leak air.
